Crew Leader Grounds Management Division
Position Overview
Cross Creek Grounds is seeking a dependable, hands-on Crew Leader to lead and manage landscape maintenance crews. This role involves taking ownership of weekly work schedules, supervising day-to-day field operations, ensuring equipment and safety compliance, and maintaining the high service standards that Cross Creek is known for. Success in this role requires leadership, attention to detail, communication skills, and a passion for creating beautiful outdoor spaces.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and guide crew members to complete daily tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Perform detailed quality checks on each property to ensure top-tier results.
- Safely manage and mix chemicals, fertilizers, and fuel mixtures according to guidelines.
- Maintain daily communication with the Account Manager and Production Supervisor.
- Train crew members in proper equipment use and landscaping best practices.
- Utilize a tablet or phone to track job completion and record notes before and after each visit.
- Leave door tags on every serviced property to communicate completion.
- Note any issues, client feedback, or areas for improvement at each site.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed to protect crew, property, and equipment.
- Keep trucks, trailers, and landscaping equipment clean, organized, and in working order.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized shop and work yard.
Performance Standards
- Maintain a positive, professional, and respectful attitude at all times.
- Be punctual, well-organized, and prepared for each days tasks.
- Represent the Cross Creek brand with pride and integrity.
- Bring your company-issued tablet/phone and notepad to all meetings and property visits.
- Communicate proactively regarding scheduling, time off, and project updates.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in landscaping and groundskeeping (equipment, mowing, pruning, mulching, etc.).
- Strong leadership, time management, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with landscape equipment and mobile technology.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and physical environments.
- High standards of professionalism in client and team interactions.
- Ability to communicate effectively via phone, text, and email.
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record (required).
- Willingness to obtain Spray Tech or related certification (preferred but not required upon hire).
