POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Executive Director. The Wellness Lead is responsible for the development, administration, supervision, and evaluation of all Fitness and Wellness programs within the goals of the Bradford Family YMCA.

This position also treats everyone with courtesy, respect and consideration; displays integrity; listens actively and genuinely; communicates in a clear and pleasant manner; embraces differences among people; demonstrates an active willingness to learn and grow; accepts constructive criticism; works cooperatively as a team member.

Greets everyone by using names whenever possible; extends thanks whenever appropriate; makes relationship building the number one priority at all times. This position is responsible for ensuring that the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA is conveyed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Hires, Trains, and supervises staff and volunteers in assigned areas. Facilitates communication and provides leadership; models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. Review and evaluate staff performance. Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
  2. Establish new program activities and expand programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
  3. Coordinate the publicity of programs and events with the support of our external marketing team.
  4. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations.
  5. Develop and monitor program budgets to meet fiscal objectives.
  6. Coordinate use of facilities for program activities and events.
  7. Prepare regular program reports and conduct program satisfaction surveys.
  8. Participate with other members of management in the YMCA’s Annual Support Campaign.
  9. Assist in YMCA special events.
  10. Respond to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
  11. Compile program statistics. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in programs.
  12. Coordinate and schedule equipment maintenance and repairs.
  13. Monitor daily operations to adhere to all YMCA health and safety standards and policies.
  14. This job description may not be all-inclusive and duties may be modified when deemed appropriate by the CEO. Employees are expected to perform all other duties as assigned and directed by the CEO.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or related
  2. Completion of YMCA Leader certification.
  3. Completion of CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications with 30 days of hire.
  4. Must be able to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with staff, lay leaders, YMCA members, and the general public.
  5. Program Development (3 years)
  6. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
