EmpowerED Care is a trauma-informed, family-centered agency dedicated to strengthening and stabilizing high-risk children and families. Our Early Intervention Physical Therapists help infants and toddlers develop motor skills, strength, and coordination, ensuring they reach their full potential.

We have multiple locations that we service around New York City; Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Putnam, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties.

We can offerFull-Time / Part-Time / Contract positions. We offer a flexible schedule with remote/hybrid work with travel to patients within your community.

Key Responsibilities:

Assessment & Diagnosis

  • Conduct evaluations to identify gross motor delays, muscle weakness, and coordination challenges.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on developmental milestones and family needs.

Therapeutic Intervention

  • Provide play-based, structured therapy to enhance movement, balance, and mobility.
  • Utilize adaptive equipment to support motor development and functional independence.

Family & Caregiver Support

  • Educate parents on safe handling techniques, positioning, and exercises to reinforce therapy at home.
  • Provide guidance on assistive devices for mobility support.

Collaboration & Advocacy

  • Work closely with occupational therapists, speech therapists, educators, and social workers to create holistic intervention strategies.
  • Advocate for early intervention services and educate families on the importance of physical therapy.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, progress reports, and treatment adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal early intervention regulations.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Doctorate or Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy (DPT/MPT)
  • Licensing: Valid PT license & certification from the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT)
  • Experience: 1-3 years in early intervention or pediatric physical therapy preferred
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of child development, motor skills, and adaptive equipment
  • Soft Skills: Compassionate, patient, and excellent communication skills
