RN, Quality Coordinator (Interim)
Location: Western New York | Salary: $85/hour | Schedule: Full Time, Days
Position Overview
The Quality Assurance Nurse will evaluate nursing practices to maximize clinical efficacy and optimize patient outcomes. This role monitors performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities and mitigate operational risks while championing a culture of accountability and proactive quality, safety, and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze cases from departmental triggers and process findings
- Oversee and maintain departmental and organizational quality metrics
- Evaluate events in the reporting system with appropriate follow-up actions
- Conduct chart reviews, abstract data, and report findings to regulatory agencies (Stroke, Sepsis, Cardiac, etc.)
- Prepare case presentations for peer review and clinical assessment meetings
- Maintain proficiency with clinical information systems used across the organization
- Apply knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations and ensure compliance
- Engage with colleagues and stakeholders professionally while protecting confidentiality
- Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives and champion organizational goals
Requirements
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program, required | BSN, preferred
Licensure/Certification: Active RN license in New York State, required | BLS, required | ACLS and PALS, preferred | Healthcare quality certification, preferred
Experience: Three to five years of nursing experience in quality assurance and/or nursing informatics
Skills: Independent work with strong clinical judgment | Proficiency with healthcare information systems | Understanding of state and federal healthcare regulations | Excellent communication abilities | Strong analytical and data management capabilities
