Job DescriptionWeekend Option RN - Surgical Step Down Unit Overview:
This role is for a Registered Nurse who will work weekend shifts in a surgical step-down unit, delivering specialized care to patients while collaborating with various departments. Candidates must possess a valid nursing license and keep up with necessary certifications, including Basic Life Support, and possibly advanced certifications depending on unit specifications. Utilizes our Nursing Conceptual Framework and nursing methodologies to deliver patient care. Holds professional accountability for the care provided to assigned patients. Coordinates patient care alongside other departments while ensuring patient rights and confidentiality are upheld.
Position Details:
Weekend Option RN
Shifts: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
Weekend Differential: $20.00/hr
Education: Must have graduated from an accredited nursing program (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
Licensure: Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license in the state of employment or compact licensure, adhering to all state board of nursing regulations.
Experience:
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or completion of the course within 30 days of hire.
- Additional certifications may be required based on the specific unit or position, or must be obtained within the designated timeframe:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurse)
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support)
- C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
- Other unit-specific certifications as necessary
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to regularly push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 lbs.
- Prolonged standing and walking are required throughout each shift.
- Must be able to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to fulfill job duties.
