INVENTORY MANAGER – ST. LOUIS, MO
Compensation: ~$45k annual salary + Overtime Pay

Shift: Mon–Fri | 1:00PM – 10:00PM | (No weekends)

POSITION OVERVIEW
You'll play a critical role in managing the tool crib, ensuring the right materials, tools, and supplies are available at the right time to keep manufacturing operations running efficiently. This position manages inventory across storerooms, point-of-use locations, and vendor-managed supply systems, and maintains accuracy, organization, and timely replenishment. The Inventory Manager serves as a key liaison between production teams, suppliers, and internal leadership - balancing inventory control, material flow, and service excellence. You'll have the opportunity to leverage defined career development programs and upward mobility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory Control & Material Handling
- Receive, stock, issue, and organize materials, supplies, tools, and equipment across the facility.
- Maintain accurate min/max levels for consignment and non-consignment items to prevent production downtime.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies to ensure exceptional inventory accuracy.
- Utilize Point-of-Use equipment, vending systems, or storeroom controls to support lean and continuous-flow environments.
Order Management & Supplier Coordination
- Monitor open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery and resolve delays proactively.
- Communicate with suppliers, purchasing, and shop supervisors to align replenishment schedules and demand forecasts.
- Prepare and distribute inventory, usage, and stock-level reports to support cost-control and planning.
Operational Excellence
- Maintain an organized and clean storeroom, staging area, and supply racks in accordance with 5S standards.
- Identify process improvements and support the adoption of best practices for efficiency and waste reduction.
- Work safely and maintain awareness of job-specific hazards in a machine-shop environment (dust, oils, metal chips, etc.).
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with a high attention to detail.
- Effective communicator—able to work professionally with production leads, managers, and suppliers.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Competent in basic computer systems (inventory software, spreadsheets, email).
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required; vocational / trade-school training preferred.
- Minimum 2+ years of inventory, storeroom, warehouse, or material handling experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment strongly preferred.
- Ability to lift materials and operate safely within a machine shop workplace.
