We are seeking a dedicated Medical Front Office Associate | DME/Respiratory Care Associate to join our team and help deliver high-quality service to our patients.

Job Description:
This part/full-time position involves processing requests for home medical equipment and supplies from customers, patients, and referral sources. You will provide one-on-one guidance to patients in purchasing medically prescribed medical equipment and respiratory care products, ensuring accurate data entry for insurance coverage approvals. Additionally, you will assist in selecting appropriate supplies as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for receiving orders for respiratory care equipment, home medical equipment, and supplies from healthcare providers and patients.
  • Gather necessary information to fill orders and meet insurance requirements.
  • Verify insurance benefits by calling insurance carriers for patients needing durable medical equipment and respiratory equipment.
  • Contact physician offices to obtain and verify valid medical documentation to secure insurance coverage.
  • Assist with maintaining initial and ongoing prior authorizations for respiratory patients.
  • Process medical orders to refill supplies as requested by patients.
  • Help patients complete medical forms to meet compliance requirements for their insurance carriers.
  • Act as a resource for information on equipment, supplies, and services to referral sources.
  • Assist walk-in customers with equipment and supply selection and send out physician orders when needed.
  • Manage ordering, receiving, and stocking of respiratory care and durable medical equipment.
  • Prepare and organize orders for delivery, setup, or pickup with technicians.
  • Ensure patient charts are current and properly maintained.
  • Comply with all accreditation, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Attention to detail.
  • Computer and keyboard skills (40 wpm).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team player.
  • Ability to take direction and work collaboratively.
  • One-year certificate from a college or technical school; or 3-6 months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of job experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional):

  • Associates degree, some college, or advanced training.
  • Previous experience in a medical setting (physician’s office, hospital, or respiratory care/DME provider) is preferred.

Schedule:

  • Flexible 40-hour work week (Monday-Friday).
  • Hours assigned between 8:30 am – 7:00 pm.
  • Occasional weekend shifts: Saturday (9:00 am – 5:00 pm) and Sunday (9:00 am – 1:00 pm).
