GERIATRICIAN - HOSPITALIST ROLE

Our organization is in search of a full-time physician who is board-certified or board-eligible in internal medicine. While additional training in geriatrics, hospital medicine, or transitional care is advantageous, it is not mandatory. The selected candidate will serve as the attending physician at our Community Living Center (CLC), a skilled nursing facility located in Brockton, Massachusetts.
Responsibilities at the CLC will encompass a combination of direct patient care and oversight of geriatrics fellows, house staff, and other trainees. Work hours are primarily during weekdays, with some weekend phone coverage required. There will be no overnight hospital duties.
This position offers a variety of teaching opportunities and encourages participation in quality improvement initiatives. Time will be allocated specifically for scholarly pursuits, along with a commitment to support the physician's career development and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care at the Community Living Center.
- Supervise and mentor geriatrics fellows and other medical trainees.
- Engage in quality improvement projects.
- Participate in educational activities and teaching sessions.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English is essential.
- Possess a Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an accredited institution recognized by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
- Hold a current, unrestricted medical or surgical license in any U.S. State, Territory, or Commonwealth, including the District of Columbia.
- Completion of residency training in an accredited core specialty program, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, leading to board certification eligibility.
- Board certification in internal medicine and geriatrics is required.
- Preferred: Experience in geriatrics, hospital medicine, or transitional care.
Working Conditions
The role is primarily weekday-based with limited weekend responsibilities, ensuring a balanced work-life dynamic without overnight shifts.
