Position: Project Engineer – Commercial TI

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Type: Full-Time | On-Site

Overview

A well-established general contractor in the Los Angeles area is looking for a Project Engineer to support fast-paced commercial tenant improvement (TI) projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who’s ready to contribute to a wide range of high-end interiors, including office, retail, restaurant, and medical buildouts.

You’ll be a key player in coordinating project details, managing documentation, supporting field operations, and helping ensure projects are delivered smoothly, on time, and on budget.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist in the planning and execution of TI construction projects, from preconstruction to closeout
  • Help prepare bid packages and coordinate subcontractor awards
  • Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation
  • Support permitting efforts and coordinate with local agencies as needed
  • Track construction progress and assist with schedule and budget updates
  • Collaborate with superintendents and project managers to ensure quality and safety standards are met
  • Participate in site walks and help address jobsite logistics, deliveries, and access issues
  • Facilitate communication between internal teams, consultants, vendors, and clients
  • Help coordinate material procurement and ensure timely deliveries

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of experience as a project engineer or coordinator on commercial construction projects
  • Prior exposure to tenant improvement work highly preferred
  • Knowledge of construction practices, safety regulations, and project sequencing
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience with construction software such as Procore and Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to shifting timelines
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred (equivalent experience also considered)
