Flexibility required for mid-shifts and on-call rotation
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse to join a high-performing Open Heart surgical team at a large acute-care hospital in Delaware. This role is ideal for a motivated OR nurse with cardiac surgery experience who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and clinical outcomes.
The selected RN will function as a key member of the open-heart surgical team, providing perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing complex cardiovascular procedures while supporting patients and families through compassionate, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
-
Provide direct perioperative nursing care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room

Assist with open-heart and cardiovascular surgical procedures

Ensure adherence to surgical safety standards, sterile technique, and clinical protocols

Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, perfusionists, and surgical team members

Support patients and families through education and compassionate care

Participate in on-call rotation for open-heart cases as required
Requirements & Qualifications
Education:
-
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Commitment to obtaining BSN within three (3) years of hire may be considered with relevant experience
Licensure:
-
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Experience:
-
Minimum of three (3) years of Operating Room nursing experience
-
Cardiac Open-Heart / CVOR experience required
