Direct Orthopedic Care (DOC) is seeking a motivated and compassionate Advanced Practice Practitioner (APP) to join and help expand our non-opioid pain management practice. Our approach focuses on interventional procedures, physical therapy, and lifestyle modification to improve guest function and quality of life.
This role offers a collaborative, supportive environment with access to in-house imaging (X-ray, ultrasound), physical therapy services, and orthopedic specialists. The APP will work closely with a pain management physician while also enjoying autonomy to develop and grow their own guest panel.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
- Perform comprehensive guest evaluations, including medical history and physical examinations
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on non-opioid pain management
- Order and interpret diagnostic imaging, laboratory tests, and specialty referrals as appropriate
- Recommend and coordinate interventional procedures for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes
- Perform in-office procedures, including:
- Peripheral joint injections
- Nerve blocks
- Trigger point injections
- Utilize ultrasound guidance for precision and safety
Documentation & Care Coordination
- Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and other team members to optimize guest outcomes
- Educate guests on treatment plans, lifestyle modifications, and expectations for recovery
Qualifications
- Strong interest in non-opioid pain management and interventional care
- Strong interest and ability to perform procedures
- Desire to learn both the clinical and business aspects of practice development
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate empathy and commitment to guest-centered care
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Professional demeanor with guests, families, physicians, and staff
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an NP or PA in one of the following areas:
- Primary Care
- Orthopedics
- Neurology
- Spine
- Pain Management
- Current NP or PA board certification
- Active Texas license (or eligibility)
- Proficiency with EMR systems and general computer skills
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule
