Langham Logistics is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Financial Planning Analyst to support the Finance team in budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial analysis. This role is ideal for an early-career finance professional who is looking to grow in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and develop a deep understanding of financial planning within the logistics and supply chain industry.
Key Outcomes Expected
- Financial Support: Assist in preparing financial reports, forecasts, and variance analyses under the direction of the Senior Financial Analyst.
- Reporting & Analysis: Compile and analyze basic financial data to help identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Budget & Forecast Assistance: Support the annual budget and quarterly forecast process by gathering data, entering updates, and validating numbers.
- Month-End Support: Assist with journal entries, reconciliations, and report preparation during the month-end close process.
- KPI Tracking: Monitor and update standard financial and operational KPIs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Support Finance business partners in developing tools and reports to aid departmental visibility into spending and performance.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects and financial modeling tasks as assigned.
- Process Documentation: Help maintain documentation of financial processes and procedures.
Critical Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic understanding of financial statements and general accounting principles.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take direction.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, basic formulas).
- Comfort with technology and enthusiasm for learning new financial systems, tools, and reporting platforms.
- Enthusiastic about leveraging financial systems such as Acumatica, Velixo, and Power BI to drive efficiency, visibility, and actionable insights.
- Willingness to embrace artificial intelligence (AI) and automation tools to streamline financial processes, enhance forecasting accuracy, and enable data-driven decision-making.
- Demonstrated interest in continuous improvement and innovation through the adoption of emerging technologies.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required.
- 0–3 years of experience in a financial analyst, accounting, or related role (internships and co-ops count).
- Exposure to logistics or supply chain industry is a plus but not required.
- Experience with ERP systems or financial planning tools is a plus.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Must be able to work proficiently with computers and other office equipment. Will sit at workstation 90% of time. Work is performed in an office environment.
