Job Description
This role involves assembling and packaging various sizes of heavy-duty cases and mid-size flashlights that protect and store valuable equipment such as cameras and lighting accessories. You will follow blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to complete mechanical assembly using hand and power tools, while maintaining accuracy in counting inventory and preparing finished products for shipment.
Responsibilities
- Assemble various sizes of heavy-duty cases used to store and protect cameras, lighting accessories, and other valuable equipment.
- Add foam inserts to each case according to work instructions and technical drawings to ensure proper fit and protection.
- Assemble mid-size flashlights on the production line, following detailed work orders and specifications.
- Use hand tools such as hammers and small drills to perform mechanical assembly tasks safely and efficiently.
- Operate a rivet machine for packaging and assembly tasks as required.
- Use power tools and small drills to complete assembly work in accordance with quality standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to ensure accurate assembly and packaging.
- Tape and seal boxes for shipment, ensuring products are packaged securely and labeled correctly.
- Count and verify inventory to support production and packaging activities.
- Lift and move parts and products weighing between 7 and 35 pounds throughout the shift.
- Train on and safely operate pallet jacks and automated shrink wrap machines as assigned.
- Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area in a light industrial production environment.
Essential Skills
- Experience in manufacturing and/or distribution environments (preferred).
- Ability to perform mechanical assembly using hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to read and follow blueprints, technical drawings, and written work instructions.
- Comfort lifting and handling items weighing between 7 and 35 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to use hand tools such as hammers and small drills safely and accurately.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate a rivet machine for assembly and packaging.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
- Willingness and ability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift as assigned.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in light industrial, production, or general labor roles.
- Experience with mechanical assembly of cases, equipment housings, or similar products.
- Familiarity with pallet jacks and automated shrink wrap machines.
- Comfort working with hand and power tools in a production setting.
- Attention to detail when reading work orders and counting inventory.
- Interest in learning new equipment and tools provided for the role.

Work Environment
The role is based in a clean, light industrial production environment focused on assembling heavy-duty cases and mid-size flashlights. You will work on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift, with pay rates differentiated by shift. The facility provides safety glasses, gloves, and high-visibility vests, while employees supply their own steel-toe boots as part of the dress code. The work involves regular lifting of items between 7 and 35 pounds and frequent use of hand tools, small drills, rivet machines, pallet jacks, and automated shrink wrap machines. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and teamwork, with each assembler receiving their own set of tools to perform daily tasks efficiently.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Torrance, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $18.75/hr.
