In this role, you’ll coordinate routes, support drivers, and keep freight moving safely and efficiently. You’ll use modern tools like GPS tracking and transportation management systems (TMS), including Axon Software, to monitor loads, solve problems in real time, and keep communication flowing between drivers, customers, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily dispatch operations, including scheduling and routing of refrigerated freight
- Track trucks using GPS and dispatch software (Axon Software) to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries
- Communicate with drivers throughout the day to provide updates and resolve issues
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and hours-of-service (HOS) requirements
- Adjust routes based on traffic, weather, and customer needs
- Quickly troubleshoot delays, breakdowns, or service issues
- Serve as the main point of contact between drivers, customers, and internal teams
- Work with third-party logistics (3PL) partners when needed
- Help identify backhaul opportunities to maximize efficiency
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and shipment details in company systems
Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in dispatch, logistics, transportation, or a related role preferred
- Familiarity with DOT regulations and hours-of-service (HOS) guidelines preferred
- Experience with dispatch systems, GPS tracking, or TMS platforms (Axon experience a plus)
- Comfortable using computers and digital tools in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to stay organized under pressure
- High attention to detail with accurate data entry and record-keeping skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a time-sensitive environment
- Experience in trucking, refrigerated (reefer) freight, or logistics operations is a plus
- CDL or prior driving experience is a plus, but not required
Work Environment
- Full-time, onsite role in Mills River, North Carolina
- Shifts are variable and may include day, mid, and evening schedules
- Must be able to reliably commute or relocate prior to start
