Job DescriptionPosition Overview Essential Job Functions:To support a manufacturing department or team in achieving daily targets. A production TL is a working production position that has additional responsibility for daily support in preparation, planning, and checking on production people, process, etc. Will act as fill in for PTO first, but then will focus on training, TM support and continuous improvement activity.Personal/Technical Skills:
- Self-motivated and self-directed leader
- Solid communication skills
- Is capable of being the product and technical expert for the area. Wide product and equipment knowledge.
- Must be comfortable making decisions on many day-to-day production related questions.
Tasks:
- Production – This is a working position. When scheduling allows, your responsibilities will expand. Fills in for call-ins and other scheduled absences. Must be trained in all product and process in area.
- Back up GL in their absence. Must be able to communicate the daily schedule and job responsibilities. Manage general production or quality related questions. Knows when to escalate issues and concerns to Plant Manager.
- Develops an environment of trust that produces a productive training environment and culture for a safe workplace.
- Assures all daily checks, TPM’s, quality records, etc. are being utilized and filled out correctly and completely.
- Daily 5S lead
- Understands, at a high level, all departmental goals and works towards them daily
- Understands and follows all company policies and procedures
- Works with team to improve standardized processes and methods, identify and eliminate waste
Work Conditions:
- Open office environment, moderate to loud noise.
- Standard automotive plan environment with PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hearing protecting, etc. Personal attire standards may apply.
- Ability to sit, walk or stand for extensive periods of time.
- May occasionally be required to lift up to 40 pounds.
Education:
- High School Diploma.
Experience:
- Experience with manufacturing processes, tooling, quality control methods and statistical process control (SPC).
- Injection plastics and Urethane process experience a plus.
- Previous exposure to a multicultural office environment a plus.
