Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Medical Technologist performs routine and complex analytical testing on blood and other body fluids. This role involves manual techniques, automated laboratory instruments, and laboratory information systems, with a primary focus on hematology.

Training Schedule:

• Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM or 7:00 AM start, for 6–8 weeks
• Post-training: Midnight shift

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years of clinical laboratory experience
• Hematology experience required
• Proven technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge to perform laboratory testing
• Experience with:
  • Fluid cell counts
  • Differentials
  • Automated hematology systems
• Prior experience in a medical laboratory setting

Education Requirements

• Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in:
    • Medical Technology
    • Medical Laboratory Science
    • Clinical Laboratory Science
  • OR Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, or Biology, if coursework aligns with job duties

Certification & Licensure

• Preferred (not required):
  • Technologist-level certification from a nationally recognized agency, such as:
    • ASCP
    • NCA
    • ASM
    • AABB
    • ACS
    • HEW
  • Hematology Specialist Certification strongly preferred
