Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. This role will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions, as well as producing error-free month-end reports and presenting their results to the controller. You will actively work with various operations personnel and financial management and become an intricate component of our progressive team environment. Efficiency, accuracy, and advancement are crucial elements for this position.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Extracting daily bank activity, preparing journal entries and completing month end bank reconciliations. Validate positive pay.
- Preparation of month end closing reports and roll up for Executive Board.
- Booking journal entries (including payroll) and month end accruals.
- Reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balances
- Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance analyses.
- Partner with operations personnel to provide advice and technical assistance with operational transactions or processes and correlate the correct financial accounting.
- Identify anomalies within various data sets.
- Performing root cause analysis and implementing corrections where needed.
- Perform and report on results of periodic audits of inventories (Work in Process, Finished Goods/Raw Materials).
- Assist in special assignments as needed.
- Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets for review by upper management.
Qualifications
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 3 to 5 years of manufacturing cost accounting, auditing, or other relevant experience. MBA/CPA would be a plus
- Strong communication, presentation, analytical, time management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, as well as able to adapt to a changing environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Experience with manufacturing standard cost environment.
- High level of dedication to meeting time commitments.
- Aptitude for relating manufacturing activities, system transactions, and processes to financial outcomes.
- Proven track record of results and ability to partner with all levels within the organization.
