Bookkeeper

Job Summary
The Money Shack, LLC is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day financial transactions and maintain highly accurate records. In this role, you will be responsible for balancing our ledgers, reconciling bank statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring our financial documentation is streamlined and compliant. The ideal candidate has strong mathematical skills and a solid grasp of standard accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities

Daily Transaction Management: Accurately record, categorize, and post all daily financial transactions (purchases, sales, receipts, and payments) into the general ledger.

Accounts Receivable (A/R): Generate and issue timely client invoices, track outstanding balances, process incoming payments, and follow up on overdue accounts.

Accounts Payable (A/P): Verify, code, and enter vendor bills; schedule outgoing payments while ensuring proper approvals and internal controls are maintained.

Bank & Credit Reconciliations: Conduct regular monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and credit cards to identify and promptly resolve any discrepancies.

Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing fundamental financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements (P&L), and cash flow summaries for review by ownership.

Payroll Support: Processing payroll entries, tracking employee hours, and ensuring proper compliance with payroll tax liabilities when required.

File & Data Management: Maintain a secure, clean, and highly organized digital and physical filing system for all financial records, tax documents, and receipts.
Qualifications and Skills

Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of proven bookkeeping or general accounting experience.

Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Accounting Principles: Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping concepts, including double-entry bookkeeping, debits/credits, and cash vs. accrual accounting.

Attention to Detail: Excellent organizational skills with a proven track record of spot-checking data entry and correcting record mismatches under minimal supervision.

Integrity: Absolute discretion and trustworthiness when handling highly sensitive and confidential corporate financial data.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is a strong plus.
