Position Overview:
The Truck Driver – Encampment Mitigation is a field-based role responsible for safely transporting crews, tools, and debris using company trucks and trailers that support encampment mitigation and debris removal operations. Working as part of a dedicated crew, this individual combines professional driving with hands‐on assistance in the field to ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with OSHA, Washington State L&I, and client requirements. The role requires a reliable, safety‐focused driver who takes pride in professional conduct on the road and on‐site.
Key Responsibilities:
Driving & Transportation:
Safely operate company trucks (one-ton pickups with dump trailers) to and from encampment sites, disposal facilities, and staging areas.
Ensure all loads are properly distributed, secured, and covered in accordance with DOT and local regulations.
Follow assigned routes and schedules provided by supervisors or dispatch while remaining flexible to changing field conditions.
Complete daily vehicle inspection reports and document all findings; immediately report any mechanical or safety issues.
Maintain clean, organized vehicles and uphold company standards for professional appearance. Field
Operations & Support:
Assist crews with loading and unloading tools, equipment, and debris from trucks and trailers.
Support safe staging of materials at job sites and designated disposal areas.
When not actively driving, assist with basic field tasks such as moving bags, organizing materials, or using hand tools as directed.
Follow all site-specific Health and Safety Plan (HASP) requirements, including PPE, traffic control, and exclusion zones.
Participate in daily tailgate safety meetings and immediately report any safety concerns to crew leads or supervisors.
Team Collaboration & Work Ethic:
Work as part of a field crew, following directions from crew leads, supervisors, and City representatives.
Maintain a positive and collaborative work environment, upholding CleanSlate's values of professionalism, punctuality, and client service excellence.
Value being on time, every time, and demonstrate reliability in all aspects of job performance.
Communicate clearly with crew members regarding pickup times, disposal schedules, and any changes to daily plans.
What We're Looking For:
Physical & Technical Requirements:
Able to perform physical outdoor work in all weather conditions, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, carrying, and securing loads.
Comfortable driving work trucks with trailers in urban environments, construction zones, and off-road conditions.
Reliable and punctual with a strong commitment to arriving on time for all scheduled shifts and pickups.
Experience & Certifications:
Valid Washington State driver's license with an acceptable driving record meeting CleanSlate and client standards.
CDL preferred but not required if vehicle weight and configuration allow operation under standard license.
Prior experience driving work trucks, hauling waste or construction debris, or supporting field crews is strongly preferred.Valid government-issued photo ID and authorization to work in the United States.
Willingness to complete all employer-provided training before field assignment, including:
o 40-Hour HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response)
o Bloodborne Pathogens Certification
o Biological Waste Handling
o CPR/First Aid
Current HAZWOPER, Bloodborne Pathogens, or similar safety certifications are a plus.
