As a member of the Morongo Basin Healthcare District (MBHD) team your mission is to improve the health and wellness of the communities we serve. In your role as a Driver, you will report to the Facilities Manager. Your responsibilities will include providing transportation services for clients of the Morongo Basin Community Health Centers and other health clinic offices in the Morongo Basin. You will be subject to random CHP mandated drug or alcohol testing.

DUTIES
•Transport patients to and from medical appointments and assist clients in and out of van. This includes "through the door" service, such as into the medical office and/or patient home (when safety allows)
•Transport patients to other facilities, which may include specialists' offices, pharmacies, and other health care facilities in the Morongo Basin, Coachella Valley, and the Inland Empire
•Manage daily/weekly schedule
•Comply with all laws governing the streets and highways of the State of California
•Immediately report any patient wrongdoing, inappropriate behaviors, and threats to self or others
•Maintains van performance and upkeep
•Responsible for daily/monthly maintenance check as assigned
•Responsible for daily gas fueling of the van. Sign and turn in gas receipts to supervisor
•Demonstrate competence in the care of young adult, middle adult and geriatric adult (when/if assigned to these patients) relative to determining each patient's age-related and other physical, psychological and cultural needs and carrying out patient care activities. Patients are treated with sensitivity according to their needs and age. Patient rights are respected
•Drivers with class A and B licenses will be cross trained on the Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) to assist with scheduling needs
•Other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by you to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without a reasonable accommodation. You are required to notify management of any limitations or restrictions that may alter your ability to perform the essentials of the position you hold.
You will be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. You will be required to travel within the service area. You will regularly sit for long periods of time; spend extended time at a keyboard or telephone; and interface with others effectively. You will be occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2 years' experience driving a nine (or less) passenger van
• Current California class C license in good standing (Class B or passenger endorsement preferred)
• CPR card may be obtained during the probationary period
• DMV print out that has no prior traffic infractions, misdemeanors and/or felonies
