Job DescriptionMedical Temporaries, Inc. is currently seeking a ***Certified Substance Abuse Counselor ***.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience required.
• This is a PART TIME/TEMP TO HIRE position requiring availability between the hours of 11AM-3PM, located in Virginia Beach, VA (23462).

Responsibilities:A Day in the life of a CSAC:
As a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor you will assist with admissions/intake, managing incoming calls and inquiries, verifying insurance benefits, assist with pre-authorizations, conduct intake screenings and guide clients through the admission process, follow up with leads and maintain communication with referral sources along with clinical duties to include biopsychosocial assessments, conduct ASAM assessments and level of care determinations, develop and update master treatment plans, facilitate or assist with group sessions, provide client engagement, check-ins, and support throughout treatment, and maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Requirements for the Certified Substance Abuse Counselor:

• Required: 1+ years of experience in the substance use field
• Required: Valid Virginia CSAC (or actively working towards certification)
• Required: Ability to build rapport with clients and families in high stress situations
• Required: Organized, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple responsibilities
• Required: Ability to pass Background Check and Drug Screen
• Required: Must be reliable and a quick learner and have ability to multi-task with accuracy in a very busy environment
• Required: Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications forthe CSAC:

• Preferred: Experience with both mental health and substance use clients
• Preferred: Strong follow-up, urgency, and accountability
• Preferred: Team player with a positive attitude
• Preferred: Eagerness to learn and develop with a growing organization
