Job Description

About Berman McAleer

Berman McAleer is an independent wealth management firm based in Maryland with offices in New York and Florida. We focus on the total financial well-being of select families that choose to partner with us.

We care deeply about the personal and financial success of the clients we serve, and our decision-making reflects those priorities. We limit the number of new clients we accept each year and have taken the unusual step of closing to new clients on a number of occasions. To keep our interests aligned with those of our clients, our advisors are salaried instead of being incentivized with production or asset-based goals, and we eschew the use of any proprietary products or accounts.

What We Believe

  • Our financial professionals act in our clients’ best interest – always – as fiduciaries.
  • Clear, transparent, and unbiased information helps lead to the best decisions.
  • We focus on multi-generational wealth management for high-net-worth individuals and families.
  • Collaboration and teamwork yield the best advice and client experience.

About the Role

We are seeking a Workplace Technology Associate to join our team. The Workplace Technology Associate is the on-site technology specialist for our Timonium office. You will provide high-touch desk-side support, coordinate with our managed service provider (MSP) for service-desk and escalations and assist the CTO with technology implementations and continuous improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with rollouts and improvements (device deployments, standard configurations, process/tool enhancements) under CTO oversight.
  • Contribute to responsible AI enablement (tool setup, access coordination, user onboarding, feedback loops) as initiatives mature.
  • Support Microsoft 365 and collaboration workflows (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive basics and Zoom.)
  • Triage, document, and escalate issues to the MSP; stay accountable for follow-through and clear user communication.
  • Maintain IT inventory and lifecycle records; support onboarding/offboarding checklists and device preparation.
  • Create and maintain practical documentation (how-to guides, quick fixes, standards).
  • Operate with a security-first mindset appropriate for a wealth management environment.
  • Provide responsive desk-side support for endpoints, peripherals, printing/scanning, and basic
  • connectivity.
  • Proactively ensure conference rooms and meeting technology are tested, ready, and supported during key meetings.

Who You Are

  • Holds an associate or bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; degree preferred.
  • Comfortable supporting Microsoft 365 in an end-user environment with strong troubleshooting instincts.
  • Excellent communicator with a service-oriented approach who keeps people informed and calm.
  • Experienced with Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune or endpoint management, or similar administration tools.
  • Familiar with Teams and SharePoint site hygiene and basic Zoom administration.
  • Interested in continuous improvement, automation, and practical, safe adoption of AI tools.
  • Experienced in financial services or a related industry preferred, including wealth management or banking.

What Success Looks Like at BMc

  • Employees receive fast, respectful support, and issues are owned through resolution.
  • Meeting spaces and collaboration tools are reliable, with minimal disruption, few surprises, and quick recovery when issues occur.
  • Continuous, incremental improvements result in a smoother, more modern, and more secure workplace technology experience.

Why Join Us?

  • Work with a firm that truly values its clients and employees. Our culture is built on trust, respect, and collaboration.
