Assembly Technician Classification Guide
Class 1 – Master Assembly Technician
Scope: Fully qualified to build and finalize both balers and compactors independently.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Complete final assembly, including:
-
Mounting power units and cylinders
-
Installing press heads, hoses, switches, and electrical components
-
Setting and confirming voltage
-
Operate and test both units
-
Perform ETL testing using HiPot equipment
-
Conduct final quality inspections and complete inspection forms
-
Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions
-
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Requirements:
-
No supervision required
-
Forklift certified
-
Proficient with tape measure
-
Meet or exceed production standards
-
Strong attendance, safety, and attitude record
Class 2 – Assembly Technician (Baler or Compactor)
Scope: Independently complete final assembly for either a baler or a compactor.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Assemble assigned unit type (baler or compactor) completely
-
Perform operation tests and ETL (HiPot) testing
-
Conduct final inspections and complete inspection forms
-
Troubleshoot and repair unit-specific issues
-
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Requirements:
-
Requires limited supervision
-
Proficient with tape measure
-
Meet production standards
-
Strong attendance, safety, and attitude record
Class 3 – Prep Assembly Technician (Baler or Compactor)
Scope: Prepares components for assembly in baler and/or compactor builds.
Key Responsibilities:
-
For compactors: Fill power units with oil, install fittings and hoses
-
For balers: Mount cylinder to press head and place press head for final assembly
-
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Requirements:
-
Limited supervision required
-
Proficient with tape measure
-
Meet production standards
-
Strong attendance, safety, and attitude record
Class 4 – Entry-Level Assembly Technician
Scope: Entry-level role focused on learning and assisting with component prep.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Perform basic mechanical tasks with guidance
-
Learn and retain assembly procedures
-
Assist with prep tasks as assigned
-
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Requirements:
-
No initial tape measure or forklift experience required
-
Not yet meeting production standards
-
Strong attendance, safety, and attitude record
-
Pay Details: $18.00 per hour
