About the Role:
The Coordinator, HR at our Grand Rapids Campus plays a pivotal role in supporting the human resources functions within the non-durable goods manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for facilitating smooth HR operations by coordinating recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance activities. The Coordinator acts as a liaison between employees and management to ensure effective communication and resolution of HR-related issues. By maintaining accurate records and assisting with HR projects, this role contributes to a positive workplace culture and operational efficiency. Ultimately, the Coordinator supports the HR team in driving employee engagement and organizational success through meticulous coordination and proactive problem-solving.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in an HR support or coordination role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with HR information systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the non-durable goods manufacturing industry.
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and payroll software.
- Certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP).
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting employee training and development programs.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the recruitment process including job postings, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and communicating with applicants.
- Assist with onboarding new hires by preparing documentation, conducting orientation sessions, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Maintain and update employee records in HR information systems to ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
- Support employee relations by addressing routine inquiries, facilitating communication between staff and management, and escalating issues as appropriate.
- Assist in the administration of benefits, payroll coordination, and compliance with labor laws and company policies.
- Prepare reports and assist with HR projects such as training programs, performance evaluations, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support organizational changes and workforce planning.
