    Job Details
  • Provides advanced-level respiratory care to patients to diagnose, evaluate, treat, manage, and control deficiencies and/or abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system within physician orders.
  • Acts as a resource to CRT staff and may be responsible for special clinical projects or assignments.
  • Performs, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic testing procedures including obtaining arterial gases.
  • Oversees and troubleshoots respiratory equipment for optimal patient care.
  • Initiates respiratory protocols and interventions based on assessments.
  • Administers medications safely and evaluates their effects.
  • Communicates patient progress to staff, physicians, and other departments.
  • Maintains awareness of patient condition and makes appropriate care recommendations.
  • Educates patients and families on health promotion, wellness, and self-care techniques.
  • Completes documentation according to departmental standards and monitors supplies and equipment.
  • Participates in quality and patient safety initiatives and departmental meetings.
  • Promotes the profession of Respiratory Care and acts as a resource, consultant, and mentor.
  • May float to other departments within scope and may be required to be on-call during scheduled shifts.

  • Documentation and quality improvement experience.
