Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Estimator - Concrete to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs related to concrete and heavy civil construction projects, ensuring that bids are competitive and profitable.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for concrete and heavy civil projects.
- Review project plans and specifications to determine scope of work and materials needed.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate project conditions and gather necessary information for estimating.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop and refine estimates.
- Utilize estimating software such as PlanSwift and Bluebeam to create and present bid proposals.
- Analyze and interpret bid documents and contracts to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to gather pricing and availability information.
- Monitor project costs against estimates to ensure financial accuracy throughout project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Estimator working with concrete or heavy civil projects
- Strong knowledge of concrete materials, methods, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in estimating software, particularly PlanSwift and Bluebeam.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to work effectively with clients and vendors.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
