Concrete Mixer Truck Driver (CDL A or B)
- Location: Baldwin County, AL
- Pay: $19.72
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Concrete Mixer Truck Driver with a valid CDL Class A or B license to join our team. The driver will be responsible for operating a concrete mixer truck to deliver ready-mix concrete to construction sites in a timely and professional manner, ensuring compliance with all safety and DOT regulations.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
• Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.
• Perform a daily pre- and post-trip safety check on equipment and the truck to ensure a safe vehicle. Document any maintenance that may be required.
• Backs truck under loading hopper, starts mixer to receive concrete. Follow guidelines and instructions by dispatch personnel.
• Drives truck to designated job site for unloading. Must distinguish between safe and unsafe conditions at the job site, in traffic, and throughout plant areas.
• Assemble concrete chute and attache chute to the back of the truck. Controls appropriate levers on truck to discharge concrete according to specifications from the contractor into a wheelbarrow or other conveying container or directly into area to be poured with concrete.
• If appropriate, wash out truck at the job site and replace chute on truck after delivery to prevent concrete from hardening in mixer and on truck.
• Spray surface of truck with protective compound to prevent adhering of concrete as needed.
• When the workload is light, assist in other areas--yard clean-up, and other duties as assigned.
🧠 Knowledge & Requirements
• Valid CDL Class A or B license with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience (preferably in construction or ready-mix industry).
• Ability to operate heavy vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and local traffic laws.
• Physical ability to climb, lift, and perform manual tasks as needed.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
