Staff Accountant | St. Johns, MI
Salary Range: $58,000 - $88,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- - Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP.
- - Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- - Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- - Support the production of financial statements and management reports.
- - Analyze manufacturing variances and provide explanations for discrepancies.
- - Maintain and update fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
- - Participate in internal control testing and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- - Assist with inventory costing and valuation.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with inventory valuation and control.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Bonus Qualifications
- - Experience with lean manufacturing principles and their impact on inventory valuation.
- - Proficiency in a specific ERP system commonly used in manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
- - Understanding of cost accounting methodologies like standard costing, activity-based costing, or variable costing.
- - Familiarity with inventory control systems and cycle counting procedures.
