We are searching for a highly motivated Certified Cardiology/Cardiac Imaging Coder with expertise in interventional/structural cardiology, cardiac imaging, electrophysiology, and heart failure coding to join our team. This individual will have experience in ICD-10 diagnosis coding, CPT E&M and procedure coding, as well as knowledge of medical billing and insurance guidelines. The Certified Cardiology Coder will work very closely with physicians, APCs, and clinical team members, requiring the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes for cardiology services.
- Work with others in the organization to ensure accurate and timely submission of claims for reimbursement.
- Collaborate with physicians and APCs to ensure their documentation supports coding and billing accuracy.
- Conduct regular audits to monitor coding accuracy and opportunities for improvement.
- Educate physicians, APCs, and clinical team members on coding guidelines and documentation requirements through prepared presentations to groups and one-on-one sessions with individuals.
- Stay current with industry changes and updates to coding, billing, and compliance.
- Serve as the liaison to VH-Ensemble system coders.
- Review system reports, including but not limited to changed charges reports, coding work queues, and charge reconciliation reports.
- Communicates any challenges, concerns, and areas for opportunity in a timely manner.
- Performs other tasks as deemed appropriate for the Certified Cardiology Coder.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, day shift.

Qualifications
- 3 - 5 years of Interventional Cardiology coding experience required.
- Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required.
- Certified Interventional Radiology Cardiovascular Coder (CIRCC) credential preferred.
- Strong understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Knowledge of cardiology terminology and procedures required.
- Familiar with the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems. EPIC preferred.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA guidelines with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and privacy of patient information.
