Job Title: Administrative Assistant - Estimating Department
Location: Mt. Airy, MD
Job Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire
Salary: Up to $60,000 annually
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support the Estimating Department at a busy construction company. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys being a key part of a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to estimators and project managers
- Assist with bid preparation, document formatting, and proposal submissions
- Maintain and organize project files, drawings, and specifications
- Track bid due dates and coordinate submission schedules
- Communicate with subcontractors and vendors to gather pricing and documentation
- Enter and update data in estimating software and spreadsheets
- Prepare reports and presentations as needed
- Support general office tasks including filing, scanning, and scheduling meetings
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in administrative support, preferably in construction or estimating
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with construction terminology and documentation is a plus
- Experience with estimating software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, or similar) is a bonus
