About Us
The Goose Creek Rural Fire Department is a combination paid/volunteer fire department in Berkeley County, South Carolina. Our primary coverage area is the unincorporated areas of Goose Creek. We provide full-time coverage with both part-time and volunteer staff. We protect a district of over 600 residential homes, 5 shopping centers, 3 schools, 13 apartment complexes, 11 industrial facilities, and a population of over 20,000. We provide free training to members ranging from entry level to advanced for all positions in the department. Once basic training is completed, all members are required to work a specific number of shifts in the station.

Job Position Description
The position of Junior Firefighter is an entry level position and applies to high school students between the ages of 14 and 18 who are new to the Department. Junior Firefighters will receive training related to a career in the fire service. Junior Firefighters will be responsible for participating in all activities involving the Junior Firefighter Program.
Responsibilities

- Junior Firefighter Meetings are held on Tuesday Evening and Saturday Morning
- Junior Firefighters are expected to attend 50% of the scheduled training meetings
