Commercial Construction Superintendent Job Summary:

The Commercial Construction Superintendent will be accountable for the entire construction project from mobilization to completion, by providing the knowledge and proven experience to run day-to-day operations on the jobsite. The Superintendents' top priority is field coordination, working closely with the subcontractors to ensure quality and workmanship meet industry standards. The daily direction and coordination by the superintendent ensures that the work is carried out safely, meets plan and specification standards, within budget, and on schedule.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of construction project from planning to completion, beginning with reviewing/researching plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure the start and finish times, safety, quality, labor/subcontractor requirements for each phase of the construction project are met.
  • Coordinate subcontractors work in proper sequence while maintaining overall project schedule. Conduct weekly subcontractor meetings and review 2-week short interval schedules, pull plans, daily quality management, and overall jobsite safety protocols with Project Managers.
  • Coordinates with Project Manager for procurement of materials to be delivered as at specified times to conform to schedules.
  • Enforce safety policies and foster a jobsite environment that emphasizes safety on the project at all times.
  • Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clients to resolve construction challenges and improve construction methods.
  • Perform daily inspections on work in progress to ensure the workmanship and materials conform to specifications and adherence with construction schedules. Verify clean, neat, and well organized work spaces are maintained.
  • Be willing to hold subcontractors accountable for meeting project schedule demands and promote open communication to spearhead foreseeable labor or material challenges.
  • Track and prepare daily production reports, time sheets, change orders, RFIs, materials used and costs reports, punch list entries, and photograph project progress. Maintain updated specifications and construction plans, collect and organized MSDS information for quick access.
  • Communicate with Field Manager/HR to document all safety warnings, timesheet errors and manpower shortages during the project.
  • Prepare and track project sign-offs, documenting completion of punch lists, and closeouts on schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum +5 years of verifiable experience supervising all phases of ground up commercial construction, not residential (e.g. fueling stations, schools/universities, retail, manufacturing/warehouse facilities) with a general contractor
  • Must be willing to travel as business requires.
  • Must be proficient with MS Office and construction related software
  • Able to effectively communicate with project team
  • Must possess valid/active drivers license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • OSHA 30
  • Current CPR certified
  • Scaffolding and various lift certifications
  • Experience supervising/completing $100K-$20MM projects on schedule and on budget
