The Clinical Supervisor is a key leadership role that blends direct staff supervision with community engagement to ensure high-quality, family-centered services in alignment with CFSA standards and PTWs culture of walking the talk, building team spirit, and striving for excellence everywhere.
Supervisors play a pivotal role in guiding Family Strengthening Workers (FSWs), supporting professional growth, ensuring compliance, and responding to family needs in the community. This position is in-person and requires flexibility for late-day scheduling and occasional after-hours crisis coverage.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision & Staff Development
- Provide weekly 1:1 clinical supervision and monthly group supervision to FSWs.
- Review and guide Prevention Plans and Family Development Plans to ensure family goals are realistic, strengths-based, and achievable.
- Provide clinical coaching in areas such as Motivational Interviewing and trauma-informed practice.
- Develop and implement ongoing training opportunities to enhance staff knowledge and skills.
Family & Community Engagement
- Conduct home visits to support high-need or crisis cases.
- Lead or participate in family meetings and multidisciplinary collaboration meetings with CFSA and community partners.
- Offer after-hours coverage on a rotating basis to ensure family safety and program responsiveness.
Monitoring & Compliance
- Ensure staff adhere to CFSA and PTWMSI documentation standards in the EHR platform.
- Monitor family progress toward prevention goals and safety outcomes; track and analyze data to inform program improvements.
- Submit timely reports on program outcomes, compliance, and service delivery quality.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Facilitate team meetings to promote collaboration, share best practices, and maintain a supportive team culture.
- Coordinate with Program Managers, Clinical Directors, and community partners to ensure families receive comprehensive, wraparound support.
- Model PTWs values of equity, cultural humility, and community impact in all professional practices.
Qualifications
Required:
- Masters degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Current LICSW or LPC in DC (or equivalent licensure).
- At least 3 years of clinical or supervisory experience serving children and families.
- Strong understanding of family dynamics, child welfare systems, and community resources.
Preferred:
- Prior child welfare or CFSA experience.
- Training in Motivational Interviewing or other evidence-based approaches.
- Demonstrated ability to manage compliance, data, and quality standards in community-based programs.
