Job Summary:
The Surgical Tech I is responsible for cleaning and handling instruments following standard policies while maintaining updated records. The role includes maintaining count of sponges, needles, and instruments, handling specimens per O.R. policies, ensuring proper decontamination and sterilization of equipment, and participating in team conferences to plan and evaluate patient care. The Surgical Tech I must adhere to organizational competencies and modify care to meet the specific needs of the patient population served.

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program or appropriate training program.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Must perform vascular, ortho trauma, spine, neuro, and endovascular procedures.
• Level 1 trauma center experience preferred.
• Professional certification by the AST preferred.
