Randstad Staffing is HIRING NOW for a Direct Hire CNC Swiss Setup Machinist in Maple Grove, MN. This position is within the Medical industry and for a family owned machine shop that is expanding their Swiss department.


Shift: 2nd

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Hours: 2:00 PM to 10:15 PM

Pay: $30-35 per hour

Type: Direct Hire / Full-Time Employment

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate the Swiss Citizen machinery.
  • Set/change cutting tools, make offsets, adjust feeds and speeds.
  • Ensure equipment is operating properly, watching, and listening for potential issues.
  • Inspect the quality of parts being produced against company and customer specifications.
  • Monitor dimensions of parts being made, including first piece and in-process inspections.
  • Communicate issues and improvement opportunities to lead person.
  • Perform and document preventative maintenance on PM Logs.
  • Deburr parts unless otherwise noted on the job traveler.
  • Fill out documentation in the job packet (including travelers, inspection reports, nonconforming product logs, scrap log).
  • Record time in computer (Data Collection).
  • Follow cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) in support of the Quality Management System.

Skills

  • Basic understanding of machining practices.
  • Work from electronic or printed drawings, setup sheets, travelers, work instructions and inspection records to meet customer quality and traceability requirements.
  • Interpret and understand GD&T.
  • Use precision measuring tools to inspect the accuracy of parts.
  • Produce parts with a high level of craftsmanship and aesthetic appearance.
  • Work independently with excellent attention to detail required.
  • Communicate effectively to solve problems, maintain product quality and timeliness.


Qualifications

  • Relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing or machining environment.
  • Knowledge and experience with machining practices.
  • The ideal employee would have strong experience with:
    • writing and editing programs at the machine
    • setting up and operating CNC machines to machine precision parts
    • making tooling and fixtures to support operation control and product quality
    • courses, certificate or degree in CNC machining operation and programming
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485 and 9001, as well as FDA standards.
