About the Role:

The Harley Vehicle Sales Associate plays a pivotal role in driving the success of our retail operations by delivering exceptional customer service and expert product knowledge to prospective buyers. This position focuses on guiding customers through the first steps sales process, from initial inquiry to finding their dream motorcycle, ensuring a seamless and satisfying experience. The associate will actively engage with customers to understand their needs, provide detailed information about Harley-Davidson motorcycles and related products, and recommend suitable options. Success in this role directly contributes to achieving sales targets and fostering long-term customer relationships that enhance brand loyalty. Ultimately, the Harley Vehicle Sales Associate serves as a trusted advisor and ambassador for the Harley-Davidson brand within the retail environment across the United States.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in retail sales, preferably in automotive or motorcycle sales.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, M-1 prefered.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience selling Harley-Davidson motorcycles or similar brands.
  • Knowledge of motorcycle mechanics and safety standards.
  • Familiarity with financing and insurance products related to vehicle sales.
  • Certification in sales or customer service training programs.
  • Bilingual abilities to serve a diverse customer base.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and engage customers promptly and professionally, establishing rapport and understanding their motorcycle and accessory needs.
  • Provide detailed product information, including features, benefits, and comfort options, to assist customers in making informed purchasing decisions.
  • Conduct test rides and demonstrations in compliance with safety regulations and dealership policies.
  • Turn customers to the assistant Sales Manager for all negotiations at the appropriate time with a warm handover.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current inventory, promotions, and industry trends to effectively communicate with customers.
  • Collaborate with the service and parts departments to ensure a comprehensive customer experience.
  • Follow up with customers, pre-sale and post-sale to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business and referrals.
  • Participate in dealership events and marketing initiatives to promote the Harley-Davidson brand.

Skills:

The required skills such as strong interpersonal communication and customer service are essential for building trust and understanding customer needs, which directly impacts sales success. Product knowledge and the ability to explain complex features clearly help customers make confident purchasing decisions. Negotiation and closing skills are used daily to finalize sales agreements while ensuring customer satisfaction. Preferred skills like familiarity with financing options and motorcycle mechanics enhance the associate’s ability to provide comprehensive support and tailored solutions.
