Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Resident Care
-
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and eating.

Observe and report changes in residents’ physical, emotional, or behavioral condition to the supervisor promptly.

Encourage resident independence and participation in daily activities and community events.
-
Provide companionship, emotional support, and reassurance to residents.
-
Maintain residents’ privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
Medication Administration
-
Accurately assist with self-administration or administer medications as delegated by the nurse or administrator, following all state regulations and facility protocols.

Document medication administration, refusals, and any medication errors or adverse reactions immediately.

Maintain medication storage areas in a clean, organized, and secure condition.

Participate in regular medication audits and maintain compliance with Utah Administrative Code R432-270-17.

Communicate effectively with physicians, pharmacies, and family members regarding medication changes or concerns.
Household & Facility Duties
-
Assist with light housekeeping, laundry, and meal service as needed to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.

Follow infection control, OSHA, and HIPAA standards in all tasks.

Support emergency preparedness procedures and participate in required safety drills.
Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years old.
-
High school diploma or equivalent.
-
Current Medication Technician certification or completion of approved medication administration training (as required by Utah regulations).

Current CPR and First Aid certification.

Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
-
Compassionate, dependable, and able to maintain professional boundaries.
