Our organization’s Department of Cardiology at Staten Island University Hospital, a premier provider of comprehensive cardiac services in the New York metropolitan region, is looking for a dedicated and skilled Fellowship-trained Advanced Cardiac Imaging Physician to deliver outstanding care to our varied patient demographic. This full-time academic role presents extensive opportunities for clinical practice, research, and teaching. The ideal candidate will be a board-certified or board-eligible cardiologist with specialized training in cardiac MRI and/or cardiac CT (Level II/III), proficient in 3D echocardiography, enthusiastic about multidisciplinary collaboration and education, and committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care along with scholarly pursuits.
Position Highlights

Scope of Practice: Focus on advanced cardiac imaging with dedicated time for multimodality imaging and general inpatient/outpatient cardiology.

Required Modalities of Interest:
-
Cardiac CT (CCT), including coronary CTA, FFR-CT applications, structural/valvular planning (TAVR, TMVR, LAAO, mitral/tricuspid clip), and pre-procedural planning.

Cardiac MRI (CMR), encompassing parametric mapping, stress perfusion, cardiomyopathies, myocarditis, viability assessments, and evaluations of congenital and valvular conditions.

Advanced echocardiography, including 3D TTE/TEE, strain imaging, and stress echo.

Nuclear cardiology (SPECT) experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Clinical Environment: A robust setting with catheterization, electrophysiology, structural heart, and heart failure programs; multidisciplinary imaging conferences; and close collaboration with cardiothoracic surgery and radiology.

Teaching & Academics: Ample opportunities to educate fellows, residents, and medical students; involvement in the organization’s system-wide imaging council; support for clinical research, quality initiatives, and guideline development.

Technology & Volumes: Access to a state-of-the-art imaging suite featuring 1.5T and 3T MRI, slice CT, 3D echo labs, SPECT capabilities, and advanced post-processing platforms. High-volume tertiary referrals with complex structural and cardiomyopathy cases.
