Job Description
As an Intake Patient Care Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in facilitating communication between healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients. You will be responsible for ensuring smooth operations in the processing of orders and verifications.
Responsibilities
- Receive orders from hospitals or doctor’s offices.
- Utilize the Bright Tree System to navigate NJ HMO websites, commercial insurance portals, and Medicare systems.
- Contact insurance providers to verify benefits and coverage.
- Assign appropriate codes in the internal system.
- Communicate with patients to confirm pricing and orders.
- Answer phone calls and patient inquiries.
- Process orders and approvals through insurance portals.
- Handle a high call volume (100+ calls/day), including transfers and quick questions.
Essential Skills
- Customer service skills.
- Prior authorization experience.
- Medical knowledge.
- Data entry skills.
- Insurance knowledge.
- Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance verification.
- Strong multitasking abilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish/English is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred; open to an associate's degree.
- Prior experience in insurance verification is a must.
Work Environment
You will work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment with high interaction with healthcare providers. The shift is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with no weekends required. The company has been established for 32 years and is family-owned and operated, fostering a close-knit work culture. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hackensack, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
