The Industrial Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within the production facility, including general cleaning tasks and painting of equipment and production areas. This role also involves performing additional tasks as deemed necessary by the Production Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklift effectively.
  • Collect all trash hoppers around the facility twice daily and dispose of trash properly.
  • Operate the floor cleaner as needed.
  • Sweep, mop, and clean floors, walls, and equipment.
  • Inspect exterior grounds weekly for litter, appearance, hazards, and notify appropriate personnel for necessary actions.
  • Perform painting tasks as needed, including walkways, railings, and floors.
  • Monitor and empty dust collectors regularly.
  • Replace and stage full recycling receptacles appropriately.
  • Maintain oil and materials catch cans, including Uhlhorn mixers and Grove drum goods mixers.
  • Stock shelves at mixer stations with necessary supplies such as gloves, dust masks, and tape.
  • Clean returnable drum plates as needed.


Essential Skills

  • 1-2 years of experience in industrial cleaning or similar role.
  • Experience in sanitation and general labor for 1-2 years.
  • Ability to handle chemicals and operate forklifts.
  • Capability to load, blend, and perform janitorial duties.


Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Comfortable working in environments with strong odors.
  • Able to pass an audiogram test.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.
  • Prior experience in industrial cleaning or housekeeping is advantageous.
  • Experience in chemical manufacturing is beneficial.

Work Environment

This role is based in a chemical plant, primarily involved in automotive material production. The work environment is climate-controlled but involves exposure to manufacturing operations, including noise, fumes, and dust. The job requires standing, walking, climbing, and operating forklifts for 8-10 hour shifts. Mandatory safety attire includes steel-toed shoes and PPE such as safety glasses and respirators. Shifts are available across the first, second, and third schedules, with potential overtime on weekends.

This is a Contract position based out of Evansville, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
