Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school-based occupational therapy position is available in Schenectady, NY. This role involves providing essential OT services to students to support their developmental and educational needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing students needs and developing individualized therapy plans
- Delivering hands-on therapy sessions focused on fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities
- Collaborating with educators, parents, and support staff to integrate therapeutic strategies in the classroom
- Documenting progress and maintaining compliance with school and state regulations
- Participating in team meetings and contributing to individualized education program (IEP) development
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Valid occupational therapy license and credentials appropriate for practicing in New York
- Experience working in school-based settings preferred
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Ability to travel to different school sites as needed
- Knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy assessments and interventions
