Position Summary Swing/Grave
The primary purpose of the Packer Operator position is to ensure the packer machine operates efficiently, safely, and effectively. This role is responsible for managing and monitoring packer equipment on the can line to maintain production flow and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Distribute bundle film and trays according to production work orders.
- Ensure the glue tank remains properly filled during machine operation.
- Load trays into the packer machine as needed.
- Identify and clear jams, reset the machine, and restart operations safely.
- Assist with hand-stacking trays at the end of the line when the palletizer is down.
- Monitor products to ensure all quality standards are met.
- Communicate equipment issues or production concerns promptly to supervisors and maintenance personnel.
- Perform all required pre-operational safety and equipment checks.
- Report any deviations from standard procedures.
- Complete and submit daily production reports and required documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
- On-the-job training provided for machine operation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude required.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Prior machine operation experience preferred.
- Previous leadership or line lead experience is a plus.
Skills & Abilities
- Working knowledge of industrial machinery and equipment operation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members and supervisors.
