Accounts Payable Specialist
A well-established nonprofit educational institution in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to support the accounting team during a temporary coverage period.
The ideal candidate brings strong AP experience, excellent attention to detail, and hands-on experience with Blackbaud, which is required for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Perform 3-way matching and verify appropriate approvals prior to payment
- Manage vendor records, including setting up new vendors and maintaining W-9 documentation
- Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH, and electronic payments
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal departments
- Maintain organized AP files and documentation for audit purposes
- Assist with month-end close related to accounts payable
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting procedures
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience
- Hands-on experience with Blackbaud (required)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard accounting software
