Job Description
This role provides compassionate, evidence-based physical therapy care in an outpatient orthopedic setting. You will evaluate, plan, and implement individualized treatment programs while maintaining a high standard of professionalism, empathy, and clinical excellence. The position offers the opportunity to work closely with patients to help them restore function, reduce pain, and achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a courteous, empathetic, and professional manner.
- Evaluate patients to identify functional limitations, impairments, and rehabilitation needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and clinical best practices.
- Modify goals and treatment plans as needed based on patient progress and response to therapy.
- Coordinate care efficiently, often managing two patients simultaneously while maintaining high quality standards.
- Perform necessary non-direct care tasks that support the rehabilitation process, such as documentation, patient education, and coordination with other healthcare providers.
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure understanding of treatment plans and progress.
- Manage time effectively to maintain an organized schedule and deliver timely, consistent care.
- Apply strong clinical reasoning and orthopedic skills to guide treatment decisions and progression.
Essential Skills
- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
- Current Massachusetts Physical Therapy License (required).
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Strong time management skills to coordinate care and manage multiple patients efficiently.
- Strong clinical skills with the ability to assess, treat, and progress patients safely and effectively.
- Ability to provide direct care in a professional, empathetic, and patient-centered manner.
- Ability to coordinate and treat two patients simultaneously while maintaining high quality standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in orthopedic outpatient rehabilitation preferred, but not required.
- Interest in occupational health and physical therapy within an orthopedic setting.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced outpatient environment with varied patient needs.
- Interest in continuous learning and staying current with best practices in orthopedic rehabilitation.
Work Environment
This position is based in an outpatient orthopedic center focused on delivering high-quality rehabilitation services. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with two late evenings per week from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. You will work in a clinical environment that supports hands-on patient care, therapeutic exercise, and functional training. The setting emphasizes collaboration, professional communication, and efficient patient flow, with a focus on providing a positive, supportive experience for both patients and staff.

This is a Permanent position based out of Springfield, MA.

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
