Job DescriptionPosition Summary

The Payroll Clerk is responsible for accurately processing and maintaining all aspects of payroll for Cable East employees. This role ensures compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry best practices, with a particular emphasis on accuracy, confidentiality, and timely execution. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now and the ability to work collaboratively with HR and Finance teams to resolve payroll-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll using ADP Workforce Now with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Maintain payroll records, including new hires, terminations, changes in pay rates, and deductions.
  • Verify timesheets, work hours, and other payroll data for accuracy and compliance with labor laws.
  • Ensure proper calculation and payment of wages for hourly construction payroll employees.
  • Prepare and submit Certified Payroll reports in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports for management and finance purposes.
  • Assist with payroll tax reporting, reconciliations, and compliance requirements.
  • Support audits by providing payroll records and related documentation as needed.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee records and payroll information.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of payroll processing experience with ADP.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, wage and hour laws, and tax requirements.
  • Experience preparing and submitting Certified Payroll reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a multi-state payroll environment.
  • Familiarity with hourly construction payroll processing.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
