Job DescriptionWe are looking for a skilled Technical Writer to join our team in San Diego, California. This is a long-term contract position within the energy and natural resources sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for crafting accurate and engaging job descriptions, particularly for IT roles, and contributing to the development of effective recruiting strategies.
Responsibilities:
• Create and maintain detailed job descriptions for IT positions, ensuring technical accuracy and appeal to potential candidates.
• Collaborate with hiring managers to understand role requirements and translate them into clear, concise documentation.
• Utilize Workday to manage and update job postings and related information.
• Develop comprehensive recruiting strategies to attract candidates across various levels, from entry-level to executive roles.
• Support the hiring process by writing job descriptions for positions across different departments within the organization.
• Ensure all job descriptions align with organizational standards and reflect the technical and functional requirements of the roles.
• Leverage knowledge of technical IT terms and concepts to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Continuously improve job description templates and processes to enhance clarity and efficiency.
• Maintain consistency and accuracy in all written materials by adhering to established style guides and best practices.• At least 5 years of experience writing job descriptions and supporting recruitment efforts for roles up to VP level.
• Proficiency with tools such as Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe RoboHelp.
• Strong understanding of IT terminology and technical requirements for various roles.
• Experience working with Workday or similar HR management systems.
• Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodologies and AP style guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to conduct audits and quality checks to ensure documentation accuracy.
• Knowledge of AB testing and its application in recruitment or documentation processes.
