Job Title: Registered Nurse – Critical Care (CCU)
Location: Syracuse, New York
Shift: Day Shift | 3x12 Hours (07:00 AM – 07:00 PM)
Duration: 13 Weeks

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-acuity healthcare facility in Syracuse, NY. The nurse will support an Adult Emergency Department / ICU Holding Unit, providing critical care services for patients requiring intensive monitoring and treatment.

This role requires strong ICU clinical experience, with Emergency Department exposure preferred, and the ability to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive critical care nursing services to adult patients in the ED/ICU holding unit

  • Perform detailed patient assessments and clinical monitoring

  • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders

  • Monitor patient response to interventions and adjust care plans accordingly

  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary care teams

  • Document patient information accurately using EPIC Electronic Medical Records

  • Maintain patient safety and adhere to hospital clinical and regulatory standards

  • Respond effectively to emergency and high-acuity situations

Schedule Requirements

  • Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

  • Three shifts per week (12 hours each)

  • Every other weekend required

  • Holiday coverage required

  • Requests for more than seven consecutive days off will not be approved

Required Qualifications

  • Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification

  • Minimum 1.5 years of recent ICU experience within the past two years in an acute care hospital

  • Experience working in Level I or Level II Trauma Centers

  • Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records preferred

  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
