Job Title: Clinical Therapist
Reports To: Clinical Supervisor or Executive Director
Summary: Responsible for providing therapeutic and case management services to a variety of clients at Steps For Change by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provides individual therapy to children, adolescents, adults, families and couples.*
- For clients who have acted out sexually, provide cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic therapies grounded in attachment theory, with a particular focus on the Good Lives Model as a framework for growth.*
- Prepare Diagnostic Assessments*
- Implements and monitors client treatment plans.*
- Works effectively with a team of therapists.*
- Assures a strong case management experience with ability to carry a caseload 15-30 clients.*
- Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.*
- Coordinates with outside providers as needed.*
- Maintains knowledge of standards, policies, laws, and rules relating to the delivery of psychological services.*

Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the general public.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, training will be provided on Steps For Change’s electronic health records system.
Education/Experience:
Master's degree (M.A. / M.S.) or higher; and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Must have one of the following licenses, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist , or Licensed Psychologist
- Valid driver’s license
