About the Role

The chosen candidate will be instrumental in overseeing hospitalized neurosurgery patients, working alongside multidisciplinary teams to guarantee smooth care coordination and outstanding patient results. This position is primarily focused on inpatient care, with opportunities to engage in outpatient activities for continuity and professional development.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver thorough inpatient care, which includes daily rounds, progress documentation, and discharge planning.

  • Conduct Emergency Department and inpatient consultations, admissions, and discharges.

  • Request and analyze laboratory tests and radiological examinations.

  • Respond to inquiries from acute care floors, inpatient nursing staff, therapists, and clinical teams.

  • Support multidisciplinary care coordination and educate patients and families.

  • Maintain effective communication with outpatient teams to ensure seamless transitions of care.

  • Provide care that aligns with clinical quality, safety, and patient experience standards.

  • Perform procedures within the scope of practice as necessary.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program.

LICENSURES & CERTIFICATIONS:

  • PA - Physician Assistant
  • CSRC - Controlled Substance Registered Certification (DEA)
  • BLS - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
  • Other certifications as required by the department.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in surgical or neurosurgery settings is highly preferred.
  • Individuals passionate about surgical care and neuroscience are encouraged to apply.
