Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Special Education Teacher position is available in a school setting located in Whitehall, PA. This contract role supports an Emotional Support classroom for students in grades 3 through 5, with assignment at a local elementary school. The assignment runs from ASAP through June 10, 2026, with work hours from 8:15 AM to 3:45 PM, Monday through Friday. The schedule includes 35 hours per week with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
Key Qualifications:
- Fully active Pennsylvania teaching certificate in Special Education is required.
- The district does not sponsor emergency permits; only candidates with active certification will be considered.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students (grades 3-5) in an Emotional Support setting is preferred.
- Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills for special education students.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and emotional support to students in an Emotional Support classroom.
- Collaborate with classroom staff and related service providers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Monitor and document student progress, adapting teaching methods and goals to meet learners needs.
- Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment conducive to student success.
